My Bio
I have been a busy home school mom most of my life. I have ten children, the youngest is 22 and the oldest is 42.* They are all leading successful, productive lives, no black sheep. And they all still get together when they can, though they are spread out in Virginia, and to Pennsylvania and North Carolina. And one is even doing a 3-year stint in Australia! There are also 22 grandchildren who come around and bring joy and laughter with them.
We raised our family in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia near Virginia Tech. I graduated from there with a degree in Broadcast Communications and a minor in marketing management. As a part of that, I did an internship in a local radio station. I understand the advertising world and the digital technology, delivery techniques, and flexibility to give you what you need for your production.
I have also read hundreds of stories to my children and grandchildren and tried to do all the voices. This includes everything from The Tale of Peter Rabbit (which I pretty much have memorized) to The Hobbit and everything in-between. In addition, I have real life experience patiently presenting educational material one-on-one, from phonics & grammar to history & science, and even geometry & algebra. This tone easily translates into the world of voice over.
All this fun stuff brought out my love of communicating clearly and watching faces enjoy the story or get a concept. But my formal training has come from Such A Voice. It is here I learned to use my voice to communicate effectively. In addition, they helped me set up my own home studio with quality equipment, and showed me how to record, edit, and turnout a high quality product for my clients. Check out my demo scripts on this site. I am committed to giving producers what they want, with quality audio in a timely manner.
*Everyone ALWAYS wants to know so…they are all my biological children, no twins, with the same husband (43 years now!) and I started when I was 21. 1 girl, then 7 boys in a row then 2 girls, in 20 years (whew!). I home schooled 33 years.
(Trivia: I changed diapers for 22 years straight)
